I work by hand creating textile collage pictures, wall hangings
and fabric postcards which illustrate an ‘other worldly’ take on life. Each individually made piece is stitched using a variety of materials selected for their unique texture and pattern. Traditional hand techniques are used, often with the most surprising materials, so that the end result has a tactile contemporary feel.
Ideas are developed in paper collage from my sketchbooks and
altered books which are full of observations about art, science, the
environment and everyday life.
Selected designs from the original hand stitch textiles are
available as greetings cards.

This summer I will be running 2 Saturday workshops at the Art Room, Barlow, S18 7TE
May 16th 2015: 'Mini Textile Postcards' hand embroidery workshop to create a simple 6 x 4" postcard size picture.
July 11th 2015: 'Hand Stitched Landscapes' hand embroidery workshop using simple stitches to create a landscape using fabrics, threads and trimmings.
Both workshops are from 10am -4pm and cost £40 which includes materials, tea and coffee.
